Growing up in the Hudson Valley, Nicolette Owen learned to appreciate nature’s naturally occurring shapes, colors, and textures. That experience, along with a background in photography, informs the graceful and spontaneous florals created in her Brooklyn studio.
A bright-pink tree peony nestled among corydalis foliage and dancing blooms of blush-colored ranunculus and black scabiosa becomes a focal point in an enchanting arrangement in a garden compote.
In romantic shades of soft pink and coral, tulips and tree peonies spill over the brim of a classic urn in this playful arrangement, which is also comprised of calla lilies, Mokara orchids, spirea, heuchera, and blue muscari.
Rich, peachy hues of orange ranunculus, ‘Juliet’ roses, and ‘Magic Sensation’ spray roses mingle with the frothy colors of ‘Quicksand’ roses and astrantia. All glow against the soft-green shades of dusty miller, eucalyptus, and lavender foliage in this elegant arrangement in a terra-cotta compote.
Spring has arrived with this sunny bouquet. Yellow ranunculus, ‘Toulouse Lautrec’ garden roses, ‘Garden Snow’ roses, scabiosa, and delicate astilbe are all bunched loosely into eucalyptus and passion vine.
