Grand Living in an Iconic Atlanta Neighborhood
FLOWER will unveil our first multi-designer showhouse in Atlanta in November. “This showhouse embodies impeccable design across every spectrum,” says FLOWER magazine Founder and Editor-in-Chief Margot Shaw. “It is inviting yet tailored, fresh yet questionably timeless. It speaks to the old and the new in a truly magical way. With the quality of talent involved, it promises to be a masterpiece for the ages.”
The 2022 FLOWER showhouse is a classic, Regency-style home designed by noted Atlanta-based architects Peter Block & Associates. Peter is known for seamlessly integrating traditional and European influences into the homes he designs, and our Atlanta showhouse will be no exception. The home is being built on 2+ secluded acres in Atlanta’s prestigious Buckhead neighborhood by luxury home builders Young & Meathe. Once complete, the inside will be decorated by some of the industry’s most accomplished interior designers, with the grounds designed by renowned landscape architect John Howard.
Shaw tapped legendary designers Charlotte Moss as the Honorary Chair and Suzanne Kasler as the Design Chair.
About the Atlanta Showhouse
A classic demi-lune front portico with Ionic columns welcomes guests to the home. Inside, a three-story floating plaster stairwell with custom bronze handrail and painted steel pickets makes a graphic statement, setting the stage for the extraordinary design experience. The interior includes a stunning “long room” with beautiful appointments including a La Cornue stove, a formal dining room with a marble fireplace, a handsome paneled library, a separate catering kitchen, a multi-purpose “cutting room” with adjoining potting porch, and a primary suite with separate “his and hers” dressing rooms. Vintage rift and quartered oak floors run throughout.
Four additional bedrooms, each with en suites, and a study with home office round out the second story. The terrace level includes a spacious family room, a secret speakeasy with adjoining wine cellar, a guest suite with en suite and private outdoor terrace, and a fully equipped spa/gym.
The exterior of the property features elegantly landscaped English gardens and a European-style pool with limestone coping. And, in a crowning gesture, easy-to-maintain English-style gardens will be planted on flat rooftops situated on the back and sides of the house.
