Terrace-Level Guest Bedroom

“The bedroom feels connected to the earth through the sepia, brown, and cream tones we used. I’m not usually this bold with wall coverings, but I fell in love when I saw a small swatch of this jungle print by Parete. I knew it would be a fun way to bring the outdoors in. Light and dark furniture pieces from Gabby echo the give and take of the room’s palette.”

Dawne Raulet’s painting of a lion stands watch over the scalloped-front, Nathan desk from Gabby. Trish says, “We’re living through another Roaring ‘20s of design. Embrace it, take some chances, and have fun.”

“For the bed hangings, I used long panels of a Fabricut animal pattern that attach from the ceiling. They evoke the feeling of a glamorous tent.” A Samuel & Sons trim featuring beaded insects adds a sense of humor and surprise in the room.

“The luxuriousness of these Pioneer Linens sheets is beyond belief, and the gold embroidery adds even more elegance.” Additional pillows and a zebra-hide bolster from Ngala Trading complete the bed.

En Suite

In the bath, cabinets are painted a soft black called ‘Iron Mountain,’ one of Tish’s favorite Benjamin Moore colors. Cross-handled fittings on the sink are from Waterworks.

Terrace-Level Patio

“In the morning, guests can relax on the adjacent terrace with a cup of coffee before heading upstairs. The Summer Classics furniture is super comfortable.”

A pair of Summer Classics Malta lounge chairs sits in front of the iron and glass doors connecting the family room to the terrace-level patio.

FLORAL SPOTLIGHT

On a chest just outside the bathroom, Canaan Marshall of Canaan Marshall Designs creates a lovely study of colors and textures with four dark, glass vases of ti leaves, a plume of grass seed, yellow and blush roses, and white mums. The smallest of the vases holds a monstera leaf and red protea banksia.

Ashley Skandalakis and the team at Atlanta Planters created beautiful containers for the gardens and terraces. For the terrace-level patio she filled a small planter with a blue point juniper standard, ‘Popcorn’ violas, calluna, Chinese and lemon ball sedum, ivy, and moss. The larger urn is planted with a Rosa’s Blush dwarf blueberry, Grey Owl juniper, taxus, baby cabbage, rose-colored dwarf snapdragon, Delft blue violas, ‘Silver Cascade’ dusty miller, dark pink cyclamen, and moss. The piece is finished with winged elm branches to give it height and more texture.
