There’s a lot to love about Harbour Island: The pink sand, Caribbean breeze, and laid-back atmosphere are just some of the charms of this Bahamian paradise. Swept up in the natural beauty, Anna and Harrison chose the island for their wedding weekend, which was filled with bohemian chic and colors as bright and airy as the location itself.
Wedding planners Charlotte and Ben Simmons of Little Island Design created a linear bouquet with colorful blooms, such as dendrobium orchids, garden roses, foxgloves, craspedia, ranunculus, and anemones, to complement the embroidery on the bride’s gown.
Two picturesque guest houses, including this one, at India Hicks’ property Hibiscus Hill were rented out for the weekend.
The couple said “I do” in St. John’s Anglican Church, known for its almost 250-year-old history and pale-pink exterior.
In keeping with low-key island style, the bride chose a flowing Naeem Khan caftan with burgundy embroidery as her gown, which stood out against her bridesmaids’ navy dresses.
A small street parade called “junkanoo,” which is comprised of musicians and dancers, accompanied guests as they walked to the reception area.
After the ceremony, the couple drove off in a golf cart with detailing that mimicked an old-fashioned car.
A seating area was set up outside the reception tent for guests to gather comfortably around a large bonfire.
